Apollo’s Hegemony Bifido Forte is a dietary supplement containing a combination of four well-known strains of probiotic bacteria of the Bifidobacterium genus: B. breve BR03, B. bifidum BB01, B. longum BB536, and B. lactis BI-04. The strains are characterised by clinically-proven probiotic efficacy. One capsule contains the optimal amount of probiotic bacteria capable of effective gut colonisation.

Probiotics are live microorganisms, usually bacteria, whose proper amount has a positive effect on the functioning of the human body. Probiotic have a wide range of effects, not only in the digestive system, but in the entire organism. Choosing which prebiotic preparation to use should be based on the presence of clearly specified bacterial strains, as they are carefully tested and proven to have health-promoting activity.

Probiotic bacteria of the Bifidobacterium genus, which is a genus of lactic acid bacteria, have the ability to conduct lactic acid fermentation. Lactic acid formed in that process leads to increased acidity of the intestinal content, which has a beneficial effect on the balance of the intestinal microflora and facilitates calcium and magnesium absorption. One of the substances that can undergo lactic acid fermentation is lactose, which is broken down into glucose and galactose. The probiotic strains present in the preparation colonise the large intestine, competing for access to the intestinal epithelium with pathogenic bacteria.
